I recently purchased this to upgrade my outdated system. I am currently using it with an onkyo receiver and the sound is awesome. It comes with all the hardware to wall mount the speakers which I thought was great. The only drawback I found were the connectors, as someone else had said. Anything bigger than a 16 gauge wire may be a problem. It is easily solved by using Monster Cable QL GFP-H With Self Crimping Gold Flex Pin Connectors (2 Pairs) or other like products. I would highly recommend these for sound quality, size and appearance. I don’t think there is anything better out there for the same price. After all, they are Polk Audio.

I also would suggest Monster Standard THX-Certified Speaker Cable (100 Feet) with this product. Excellent quality and great price for wire. It is small gauge but for 25ft or less will be perfect.

I bought this set to replace my Samsung Home Theater in a Box set I bought with my TV back in Nov 2007. The speakers come with easy to set up brackets and templates for those brackets as well. I also put my front R/L speakers on the Atlantic Satellite Speaker Stands (worked fine after having to alter (drill a hole) in the mounting bracket on the stands) since the polk speakers have bottom mounting screws, not back mounting screws. Other than that very minor thing, the set up was EASY!

I am not a big audiophile, but to me the sound is great. Such a HUGE improvement from my HTIB speaker set.

I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because I think Polk could have had both a bottom and back screw mount to better accommodate different set ups. Rating: 4 / 5

I love the Polk Audio Home Theater System. I love coming home and watching a dvd and or listening to my music. The sound quality is crisp, clear and moving. I feel like I’m at the movies especially when the floor starts to vibrate. You know when a sound system is good is when your son brings his college friends home to watch a movie and doesn’t mind you being there. Quality at an affordable price is the best sound to my ears. I am sure there are even better system out there than this and at higher prices…who cares! I can’t say enough about how good the sound is. Oh… wait a minute yes I can. I was watching a movie with my dog Maxx. He was laying on the couch next to me when all of a sudden he jumps up and starts barking. Yes you got it, he thought there was another dog barking outside when it was only the movie. The barking Maxx heard was the background sound to a talking scene. Hmmm!!! What does that tell you about the clearity? Man’s best friend is proof that the sound is so real it can even fool an animal. I am so done with having to have to spend a lot of momey to get anything. I did my homework, asked the correct questions and I ended up with a sound system that would give the competitors a run for their money. Love it! The money I saved I went out and bought a new 54″ plasma tv. Happy New Year and good luck.

The Polk satellite speaker’s sound great what a deal I had purchased this speaker for my bedroom I wanted something small and compact and easy to install. Let start with the lows first. Speaker mounting brackets are not very well designed all thought they work and serve there purpose. Next complaint is the speaker wire connectors, they could be built with a little more thought in mind. Whit that said the speaker, performs and sounds amazing for the size and price. Highs are clear and crisp and lows are smooth and non scratchy. I v read many complaints about the subwoofer not being powerful enough but for my room and hardwood floors I am stuck turning the volume down to keep it in balance with the rest of the system ,so unless you’re a rapper I would say it sound more then efficient. Other features include a low pass control and a volume control knob. It also has a toggle switch for power on, auto, and off, and a toggle switch for the phase control. All in all these speaker are a great buy and sound very good with movies and music. Note these speakers are paired with a Pioneer elite vsx-23thx they have also been connected to a cheap RCA receiver which they performed well

after reading the reviews here i bought these speakers. very impressed. pleasant surprise to how small they were. yet they sound very full in every way. great sub provides perfect balance. i heard sound i couldn’t hear from the other speakers i replaced. i have a friend that raves about his BOSE. i have watched several films at his house and his system is very pleasant. he spent over a $1000 for his speakers. he watched IMAX super speedway at my house and was blown away. he has the same film but heard wind,gear changes and clearer more natural voices with the POLKS. this just proves that you don’t have to spend thousands to get great sound. i also played several types of music to get a good idea of range. i could not find anything that these speakers couldn’t handle.

speakers are small and solid. very easy to put anywhere. the sub is large but this is a good. you can hide it behind your tv or couch. on the back of the sub is a volume control and you can fine tune how much bass you want.(it will thump if you want or not) it will also power your left and right speakers if needed. very simple instructions for set up with any 5.1 receiver. lots of flexibility with this system.
