I bought this projector for a home theatre and to take with me when I do presentations. For the month I have owned it, so far, it has proven to be versatile enough for both jobs. Amazon just happen to have a bundle deal at the time I purchased it so after the breakdown, it was the cheapest place to buy it as well.

I bought this projector for my husband for Christmas after researching and reading about several different projectors. I can now say that I am positive I made the right choice. The projector really is amazing. It took only minutes to set up. The picture is definitely HD quality. We have just been running it on our white wall. We put the projector in our basement so there would be less light. When we watch movies during the day (with the blinds closed) the picture is still clear, unless it’s a dark scene, then it’s hard to see (but that will happen on any TV).

We have the projector running a 143 inch screen. Eventually we’ll buy the ceiling mounts, but for now it’s just sitting on a table. We are looking forward to taking it outside one night this upcoming summer and watching a movie on a huge screen on the side of our house.

Everything is easily explained in the manual (not that you even need the manual). The hookups are self-explanatory. The only thing I wasn’t expecting was that we have no sound for our PS3 games. But, that is because we have an old receiver that doesn’t have any HDMI hookups on it. Just a suggestion: You have to have a receiver with HDMI hookups (in and out) in order to hear PS3 games. DVD’s play fine. We hooked our DVD player/receiver into the projector and can watch movies with no problem.

The price of the projector is excellent on amazon.com. I researched other companies and found that most other places were consistently $100 – $200 more than amazon.com.

We have not had any problems or concerns with the projector so far. I’ve heard other people say the bulb doesn’t last as long as the company claims. I’ve only had this product for a month and have maybe put 20 hours on it so far. I will update later on down the road if I run into any issues with the bulb.

The projector noise is quiet. We can’t hear it at all while watching movies.

I would highly recommend buying this item if you are in the market for a quality projector, but don’t want to spend a huge amount of money!

I bought the HD65 refurbished in the beginning of 2009 for almost the same price as a new one today. I have ceiling mounted the projector. It is very small and light. The colors are very good, and I never notice the rainbow effect. I have a 120″ screen and sit more than 12 feet away and the image is very sharp. I ordered an extended warranty on the bulb for $100, but haven’t needed it yet. You may want to consider the HD66 that just came out, which is similar to this projector with a faster refresh support for 3D stuff but without component hookup.
